THE JOSEPHINE HERRICK PROJECT
Since 1941, the Josephine Herrick Project (JHP) has been serving underserved and marginalized communities, teaching them to express themselves and tell their stories employing the visual language of photography through our free training programs, workshops and public exhibitions of student work. Working with youth at risk, immigrant and underserved communities, disabled veterans, children and other adults with special, developmental or cognitive needs, our programs are transformative —using and celebrating the power of photography to show us things we otherwise might not see, and to change lives. Committed to delivering programs of excellence and positive impact, JHP is proud of the 30 or so professional photographers who teach with us and of the community partners with whom we work in New York City, across New York State and along the northeastern seaboard.
