Samyang has announced yet another lens as part of their “2016 Summer Samyang Blockbusters” promotion, this time a 20mm f/1.8 full-frame manual lens. The new lens will be available both in stills and video-centric bodies (f/1.8 and t/1.9 versions).
The f/1.8 version of the lens offers a bright, fast maximum aperture and Samyang’s Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) for improved optical performance. There are 13 elements in 12 groups including two aspherical and three extra-low dispersion lenses. The optic has a seven-bladed circular aperture, and a smooth focus ring.
The manual focus lens will be available for Canon EF, Nikon F, Pentax K, Sony Alpha, Canon M, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Sony E and Micro Four Thirds mounts, although the full 94.8° field of view will not be available on all mounts, of course. It will list for a price of around €500 (which is approximately US$550, although official US pricing has not yet been announced).
