Consumer Electronics Giants to Return to Annual Photography Show
New York, NY – October 8, 2012 – Squarespace, and CG Pro Graphics, among others, will exhibit their products and services for the first time at this year’s PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo from October 24-27, 2012 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. In addition, the Nielsen Photo Group announced that two legendary brands in photography — Polaroid and Olympus — as well as consumer electronics giant, Samsung, will return as exhibitors at this year’s show. Participation by these, and other companies this year, illustrates the impact and importance photography and video continues to play in business and everyday lives, and how PhotoPlus Expo, along with its educational seminars and special events, continues to provide the perfect environment for creative artists at all levels to learn and share. Collectively, more than 230 companies will showcase their products and services to an estimated crowd of 25,000 show attendees.
“We are excited to welcome Squarespace and CG Pro Prints as first-time exhibitors at PhotoPlus Expo,” explains Jeff McQuilkin, Director – PDN PhotoPlus International Conference & Expo. “We are also pleased to welcome back Polaroid, Olympus, Samsung, and so many others back to the show this year. It is both interesting and gratifying to see that many of the pioneering brands in the photo industry continue to thrive while new technology companies that expand the uses of photography are all together under one roof.”

CG Pro Prints (Booth #767) offers fully finished canvas gallery wraps to professional photographers at a cost dramatically lower than any other professional photo lab (a 16×20 is $22.99, for example). By offering everyday low prices, professional quality, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee, photographers are able to provide a better value to their clients, while increasing their own profits.
Samsung Electronics America (Booth #555) will showcase its innovative SMART Cameras with built-in Wi-Fi, including the NX family of Compact System Cameras and eleven lenses, compact point-and-shoots, and new durable and stylish memory cards. Samsung’s NX1000, NX210 and NX20 cameras strike a perfect balance between size, resolution, performance and design with compact and stylish bodies, and a large APS-C CMOS sensor to help produce high-quality photos and full-HD video. Samsung will also highlight its complete NX lens line-up, including the new 12-24mm and 45mm lenses, seen for the first time in the US. The ultra-wide 12-24mm and mid-telephoto 45mm lenses also feature i-Function, Samsung’s intuitive lens control system.
Also on display, Samsung will show its EX2F SMART Camera, a premium compact that offers a bright f/1.4 lens that produces outstanding image quality, and the MV900F SMART Camera, which features a 180°-degree MultiView flip-out LCD display and Gesture Shot control with motion-sensing technology. Finally, Samsung’s memory card line, ranging in sizes from 8GB up to 64GB, features a premium design with a metal construction for increased durability, resulting in waterproof, magnet-proof and shockproof models. With transfer speeds up to 48MB per second, Samsung’s memory cards are ideal for quickly transferring large HD videos or RAW image files.
Olympus Imaging America (Booth #1100) recently launched two new PEN compact system cameras designed to help both advanced and emerging photographers take their creative power to a whole new level in brilliant still images and high-definition (HD) video. The Olympus PEN family combines the portability of a point-and-shoot with features found on bulkier cameras or camcorders to deliver amazing image quality and lightning fast speed.
The powerfully simple Olympus PEN E-PM2 and PEN E-PL5 offer advanced capabilities without the complexity of a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera: a new 16-megapixel Live MOS Image Sensor, TruePic VI Image Processor, high ISO of 12,800, full 1080i Full HD video, a variety of Art Filters, built-in creative features and accessories, including a new Body Cap Lens. The BCL-15 f8.0 Body Cap Lens serves as a body cap when carrying the camera around without its interchangeable lens, and transforms to become a pan-focus snapshot lens to capture images.
Polaroid (Booth #149) will exhibit and demonstrate a number of products in its broad lineup of lenses, paper, and other photographic accessories.
